Born in 1976 in Algermissen, Germany, Diane Kruger initially studied classical dance at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London. However, a knee injury forced her to go back to Germany where she discovered a new calling in the world of fashion, becoming a successful model and winning the « Look of the Year » modelling competition. She went on to work with top fashion brands such as Chanel, Saint Laurent, and Louis Vuitton, gracing the covers of prestigious magazines like Vogue, Marie Claire, and Elle. On the suggestion of French filmmaker Luc Besson, she enrolled at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris, and her acting career took off in the early 2000s. After several roles in French films like Mon idole (2002) and Ni pour, ni contre (bien au contraire) (2003), her breakthrough came in 2004 when she landed the part of Helen in the blockbuster film Troy, cementing her status as an international star. Since then, Kruger has managed to build a prolific career between American and French cinema, appearing in acclaimed productions like Inglourious Basterds (2009), The Bridge (2013-2014), and the Cannes Film Festival-winning In the Fade (2017) for which she received the Best Actress award in the same year. She recently made a notable appearance at the 2024 Vogue World event during Paris Fashion Week.
