Born and raised in Lausanne, Switzerland, Andy Picci is a conceptual artist currently living between his hometown and Paris. His artistic endeavour is driven by a quest for self-identity, which in the context of our current hyper-digital age calls for an exploration of the virtual realm. By playing with and stretching the boundaries of digital media, Picci aims to present a different version of our contemporary world, he offers us a dreamy, surreal and often interactive landscape for us to break from societal norms and reconnect with ourselves. Thanks to his photography training (which he obtained at ECAL in Lausanne), visual communication studies at ESAM Paris, and Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins UAL, Andy Picci has gained not only knowledge on multiple artistic supports but also in-depth theoretical frameworks, the combination of which results in both thought-provoking and aesthetically pleasing works.
