Marc Donnadieu has established himself as a respected figure in the contemporary art world, with a career spanning several prestigious institutions and various disciplines within the art world. He served as the director of the Fonds régional d’art contemporain de Haute-Normandie in Sotteville-lès-Rouen from 1999 to 2010, and hold the position of curator of contemporary art at the LaM (Lille Métropole Musée d’art moderne, d’art contemporain et d’art brut) in Villeneuve-d’Ascq until 2017. But Donnadieu’s expertise lies in the field of contemporary photography, which he recently showed during his time as the chief curator of the Musée de l’Élysée in Lausanne, Switzerland. As a curator, Donnadieu has organised numerous critically acclaimed solo and group exhibitions, showcasing the work of both modern and contemporary artists. Some of the artists he has featured include Dove Allouche, Silvia Bächli, Elina Brotherus, Damien Cabanes, Philippe Cognée, Helmut Dorner, and many others. He has also organised thematic exhibitions exploring contemporary photography, representations of the body, and the relationships between art and architecture, promoting both established and emerging artists. In addition to his curatorial work, Donnadieu has been a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) since 1997 and the International Council of Museums (ICOM) since 2010, serving on various advisory boards and commissions both in France and abroad. As a prolific writer, Donnadieu has been a regular contributor for numerous international art journals and magazines, such as the French contemporary art magazine Art Press, further expanding his influence and expertise within the art world.
